The accessories are what turn a sauna from an appliance into a habit. Eucalyptus on the rocks is the difference between sitting in a hot room and actually wanting to; the ritual is most of the value.
The range covers sweet birch and eucalyptus essential oils in 10ml and 50ml, and Himalayan salt cooking plates in round and square 20 x 20 x 5cm as well as a barbecue plate. Prices start at £6.95.

Use essential oil correctly and it lasts months. A few drops go into the water in the ladle, and the water goes onto the rocks — never neat oil onto a heater, which will scorch and can catch. Three or four drops in a full ladle is plenty.
Choose the oil for the effect. Eucalyptus opens the airways and is the classic sauna scent; sweet birch is the traditional Finnish note, closer to the smell of a birch whisk. The 10ml bottles are the sensible way to find out which you prefer before buying 50ml.
Ventilate and test first. In a small cabin, scent concentrates far more than expected — start with less than you think, and do not use oils at all if anyone using the sauna is asthmatic, pregnant or sensitive to fragrance without checking first.
The salt plates need the opposite of normal care: never wash them. Heat them gradually, cook directly on the surface, and when cool wipe them with a barely damp cloth and dry them off. Water dissolves the slab, so soaking or a dishwasher destroys it.
