How to choose
Start with the room, not the bed. Leave 60 to 70cm of walking space on at least one long side and at the foot. A king in a small room that meets that clearance is a good decision; one that does not turns the room into a corridor.
Then measure the route, not just the room. Bed frames arrive as long flat sections, and the number that stops a delivery is the diagonal of your stair turn, not the width of the bedroom door. Check the headboard height against a low landing ceiling too — several here are over 150cm.
Choose the base for how the room is used. An ottoman base is the most storage per pound in this catalogue and needs clearance above to lift. A drawer base needs clearance beside it instead, which matters in a room where one side is against a wall.
