A Lamp Post with a Planter at Its Foot
It stands 189cm tall on a base that's 41.5cm square and 33cm deep, and that base is a planter — so it's two things at once, a lamp post at roughly head height and a container for whatever you put around its foot. The planting is what stops it reading as a fixture dropped onto a lawn.
Solar Charging, Run Time and Output
Six hours of sun gives roughly six hours of light, and it switches itself on at dusk. Output is 120 lumens in a cool white at 6000K — enough to show where a path goes rather than enough to read by, which is about right for something that has to last the evening on a day's sunshine. All three heads point down, so it marks a drive or a path edge without shining into a window.
Replaceable AA Battery
It runs on an AA battery you can replace, which matters more than it sounds — a sealed solar light is scrap the first time its cell stops holding charge.
Weather Rating and Materials
Rated IP44, so rain from any direction is fine. The post is polypropylene and ABS rather than metal, which means there's nothing in it to rust and nothing to touch up at the end of the season.
Assembly and Standing It Steady
It arrives flat and needs assembling. At 5.6kg empty it's light, so fill the planter with compost and something growing before you decide it's steady enough for an exposed corner.
